Job Description:

Hardware Engineer

We have a current opening for a Hardware Engineer to work in the TelePresence System Business Unit (TSBU) of our Emerging Technologies Group - ETG.

TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table. TelePresence is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play, and learn.

Responsibilities:

* Generate and present architectural proposals, gain consensus on approval and drive adoption and implementation.
* Detailed system, board, and programmable logic design, implementation and debug.
* Direct and design hardware test and qualification required necessary to ensure product quality and integrity.
* Interface with product marketing on developing new product proposals.
* Interface with software team on diagnostic creation and representation of hardware to software developers.
* Develop detailed product hardware specifications.

Requirements:
* 7-10 years of experience with System level design, including system architecture including power subsystem specification and distribution design.
* Experienced at debug and root cause closure of complex system level issues.
* Expertise at board level design including design for EMC, ESD, signal integrity, power decoupling.
* Experienced at FPGA/ASIC design and verification
* Design and debug Experience with designing products for worldwide compliance requirements.
* Strong communication skills, and ability to lead and direct technical activity for junior engineers.
* Video and audio design experience highly desirable.
* Requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-7 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7-10+ yrs related experience.
