Job Title: Technical Lead- Cloud Computing
Location: San Jose, CA

Organization:
Cisco seeks a Technical Lead to help define architecture and system design for cloud computing enablement.

Opportunity Snapshot:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply a wide range of technologies, with the ultimate goal of designing and validating Cisco reference architectures to enable cloud computing use cases.

You will participate in, and sometimes lead, a variety of cross-functional teams which develop the architecture for network-enabled clouds. You will also be directly involved in designing, building, and running proof-of-concept clouds to help validate the architecture, Cisco differentiations, and product roadmap recommendations.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for actively participating and developing Cisco cloud architecture as part of a virtual, cross-functional team. You may also lead one or more subcomponents of the architecture.

You will also be responsible for developing and implementing concepts that result in Cisco-enabled cloud differentiations. This effort will involve building out a variety of cloud infrastructures leveraging a combination of: Cisco components, open source, and partner stack elements.

Required Skills:
1. Eight plus years of in depth experience in system design that includes networking, compute, and storage elements
2. Eight plus years of experience in multiple forms of virtualization (including compute virtualization)
3. Five plus years of experience in IT system management (e.g. ITIL) strongly preferred
4. Five plus years of strong software engineering skills and experience (C, C++, Java, scripting languages, API design and implementation)
5. Knowledge of model-driven, distributed systems
6. Able to lead system and software engineering teams
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
8. Demonstrated success in working collaboratively in virtual or cross functional teams
9. Demonstrated “hands on” experience in concept and prototype development
10. BS/EE or CS and or MS/EE or CS degree with eight plus years of related experience
